Kristian Bush Joins Goodwill Industries For Exclusive Benefit Concert Posted: 17 Dec 2014 06:48 PM PST Once again one of country music's multi-platinum recording artists has joined forces with a well known organization to bring holiday cheer to the community. Tis' the season and I think it's only appropriate that these acts of kindness do not go unrecognized. Kristian Bush and Goodwill Industries of Houston connected donors and Goodwill job connection program participants with a benefit concert and donation event held in Houston, TX last week on 12/11. Through a national partnership between the two, fans were encouraged to provide an item or monetary donation that would give them free entry into Bush's live concert, meet some of Goodwill's job connection center program participants in person, and see how their donations directly impacted the lives of those less fortunate and aid in creating jobs. "The song, 'Trailer Hitch' says, 'I may not have that much but I don't mind spreading it around.' Almost everyone knows someone who is struggling to make ends meet and unemployment in our country is still a problem. The simple act of giving away what you no longer need to Goodwill can help someone find a job. That's pretty amazing to me."– Kristian Bush Bush's Top 30-and-climbing single "Trailer Hitch," helped bring life to the event at the same time reminding us that we collect so many things throughout the years that we do not need can't take it with us when we go… so why not "give it away?" Click here to watch the video for “Trailer Hitch.” "Thank you to everyone who came out to last night's event. It was an honor to help Houstonians make the connection between the everyday items they donate to Goodwill and the members of their community who have received jobs or are going through training for future careers because of those donations. Goodwill's message is 'Donate Stuff. Create Jobs.' And last night, we got to see the magic of that message in person," said Bush. “We are honored that the Houston community was chosen as the kick-off for Kristian’s partnership with our Goodwill agencies across North America,” said Steve Lufburrow, president and CEO of Goodwill Houston. “Kristian’s concert last evening drew hundreds of Houston area residents who brought used clothing, household goods and monetary donations. The revenue from the sale of these donations empowers community residents to meet their goals and fulfill their futures through job training programs and support services. We are grateful for Kristian’s support of Goodwill, and encourage others to donate what they no longer need.” Bush performed an special concert preview earlier that week for Houston media in a news conference at Goodwill Houston headquarters. He was very hands on and involved as he visited with staff, took a tour of the job connection center and talked about how important the partnership was with Goodwill the #GiveItAway campaign. "Trailer Hitch" is the first single from his upcoming debut solo album, Southern Gravity, (Streamsound Records) and executive produced by Byron Gallimore. As a fan we have also have the opportunity to contribute to this great cause are encouraged to continue donating to Goodwill year round.
