Quick Tip

Where Are My E-mail Folders In Windows 10?

Cecil can't find his e-mail folders since upgrading to Windows 10. He writes: "Prior to downloading Win 10, I used Win 7 and Hotmail allowed me to create folders to which I could move e-mails I wanted to save. Now, on Win 10, I can't find these e-mails. Where did they go and how do I find them?"

live-mail-options-mail

Cecil, did you use Outlook.co online or did you use an e-mail such as Live Mail on you your PC? If you used Live Mail, it is still there. Simply search for "Live Mail" in you search bar and click on the results. Use that program instead of the Windows Mail app.

If you were using Outlook.com (Hotmail) online, it is unchanged. Just go to www.outlook.com and sign in.

If you have a smartphone or a tablet, then you probably have an Android device. Let's face it - Android is everywhere - and sooner or later you'll want to stop struggling and get the most out of yours!

But the problem is... it's NOTHING like what we used before!

Apps? Widgets? Touchscreen gestures? It's all new, it's all different, and there are NO good guides out there that give you a proper rundown on how to use these things!

It's not like you can just ignore them, either.

So, with that said... if you're going to be using Android, you might as well know how to use it properly!

That's what this Android guide is for!

Our writers are constantly answering questions about how to their WiFi working, or how to download apps, or even just "how do I turn this thing on?!"

We took the problem head on: we gathered all the resources we could, had every tech genius in the office collaborate, and even recorded some in-depth video informationals so we could put together this guide!

This is quite simply the most thorough, most detailed, easiest-to-understand guide to Android you'll EVER find!

While it's focused on tablets, the Android operating system is almost identical for smart phones too... so 99% of the information here is applicable to both!

I wish I could tell you EVERYTHING that's in this guide... but there's too much to pack into one e-mail!

After all, the guide is over 130 digital pages long, with videos and graphics that make sure you know EXACTLY what we're talking about!

This is 15 chapters of chock full of the critical information you've been dying to know!

Here's a rundown of all the chapters, just so you can get an idea of how thorough this guide really is:

Welcome to Android
Getting Started With Gestures
The Homescreen
Android Settings
The File Manager
Apps & Widgets
Customize Your Homescreen
eReaders & eBooks
Movies & Music
Pictures & Videos
Office Apps, Printing, & Cloud Storage
Using The Calendar To Manage Your Life
Video & Voice Calls
Android Security
The Best Apps For Games, Social Media, News & More

By the end of this guide, you WILL know how to use your Android device.

You WILL be able to answer any questions your family and friends have.

And most importantly... you will NOT have to deal with the frustration of awkwardly pressing buttons and apps until your tablet or phone does what you want it to.

While I can't go into detail about everything this guide has (it's just so much information) but I can give you a sneak peek at just what you'll be finding out!

First off...

There's a whole introduction to just exactly what Android is.

There are a LOT of misconceptions out there as to what an Android tablet or phone is, what its relation to Windows or Mac is (none at all!) or how you can use it with the Internet!

You might learn a thing or two you didn't know before you even get into the meat and potatoes of this guide!

For instance, what do you need to get online wirelessly with your tablet? Do you know EVERY piece of equipment used?

You will once you see the quick video introduction!

But that's just the beginning (literally!)

How about USING your tablet or phone?

Those things don't come with a mouse, and most of them don't come with a keyboard! So how exactly do you type? How do you select or click stuff?

We have that information too!

Chapter 2 goes DIRECTLY into gestures and using your tablet! You'll find out the difference between swiping, pinching, tapping, and holding. Even people who have owned Android devices for a while are going to discover new things!

One good example is the "hold" menu. A LOT of people actually don't know about that one - and it can open up a lot of new features or options for using apps, pictures, or music!

And remember - when this guide is explaining these features, it's in clear & concise language. You will NEVER be confused by the terminology used, and you definitely won't feel like you have to go back and repeat sections.

It's so simple you'll get it all the first time you see, read, or watch it!

Of course, you can't forget about apps either!

What is an app?

Where do you find them?

How do you download them?

Which app is the one you ACTUALLY want?

Okay, you got it downloaded... how do you USE it?

If you think we forgot about apps in this comprehensive guide, you're nuts!

They're one of the most important aspects of the Android operating systems, and we go into full detail.

And my guide doesn't stop there!

Once you have your apps and widgets... maybe you want to make sure it's all on your homescreen right?

You're going to love the chapters on the homescreen!

We start off by giving you in-depth information on everything that goes on the homescreen...

THEN I SHOW YOU HOW TO CUSTOMIZE IT!

You'll know how to get your e-mail, contacts, even up-to-date weather RIGHT ON YOUR HOMESCREEN!

This is the screen you see the MOMENT you turn your device on every time!

So it's important to make sure that it has all the stuff you need (and none of the junk you don't!)

You can get all SORTS of widgets or apps on here...

You can even change the background!

If you don't know how to customize it, you might be losing important apps to second or third pages, which makes you have to swipe to the side EVERY time you just want to look at your e-mail!

If you have an Android phone or tablet, it's a guarantee you have a camera built into it.

Nowadays, it's almost pointless to have point & shoot cameras... because the ones in our Android devices is SO good!

This guide shows you how to operate the camera, switch between front & back cameras, and even activate your video recording!

Don't let a SINGLE feature of your Android device go to waste!

Use this guide to make sure you're getting ALL the benefits of what has to be the most significant technology this century so far!

Whenever you use technology (especially something with your e-mail, passwords, WiFi connections...) you NEED to stay secure!

Not only do we show you the must-have security app for Android (the that ALL the Android users in my office use) I even show you some things that even advanced Android users don't always pay attention to: permissions!

What are permissions? Well, just like the name implies, they're the things that your apps want access to before they operate...

With Android 101, you can download your apps knowing exactly what they'll do, exactly what they'll need, and knowing you didn't pickup one of the dreaded "fake apps" that are growing more and more popular from malware creators!

To learn more, you simply HAVE to check out the guide!

WHEW!

I feel like I've been going on and on forever!

Take it from me - Android is here to stay. As popular as Windows is for computers, Android is the same for tablets and smartphones.

Whether you've had Android devices for a while, or at planning on taking the leap soon... PLEASE grab a copy of this guide!

You won't find another guide out there that's both thorough and concise like this one.

And DEFINITELY not at the monster deal I'm offering today:

Just $8.97 for 134 pages of information, pictures, and video on how to use pretty much ANY Android device!

That's right!

You get ALL This information more a measly $8.97!

There are NO guides like this anywhere else. At all!

Every bit of information in here came right from the minds of me and my tech team. And trust me, they know Android.

If you go through this guide, it's practically impossible for you to have any questions on how to use Android!

It covers EVERYTHING!

How Can I Uninstall Bing?

Lyn has a question about Bing. She writes: "We have updated to win 10 at home and have Bing installed, I HATE BING. Is there a way to disable it? I do not want to upgrade at work yet."

I think you are misunderstanding what Bing is. Bing is a search engine created by Microsoft. It's not a program installed on your PC.

If you want to search on the web without using Bing, just open up your browser and go to the website for the search engine you like. You can make that search engine your home page or even make it the default search engine for your browser.

Bing is the default search engine for the new Edge browser, but you can change that with just a few clicks.

In Edge, click the menu button on the upper-right side and choose "Settings."

edge-settings-menu

Scroll down to "View Advanced Settings."

edge-advanced-settings

From here, you can scroll down and change the default search engine for your browser.

change-search-from-bing

Bing is the preferred search engine for Windows 10. So when you use the search box or Cortana and get web results, when you click on them, you will be taken to the Bing.com for the results.

If you really dislike Bing that much, just open up Google or Yahoo or another search engine in your browser and do your web searches from there.

If you make Google Chrome your default browser, you can install a couple of extensions from the Chrome Web store that will redirect your searches. But you'll need to leave Chrome open for it to work or enable background apps on Chrome. To do that, go to Settings in the Chrome drop-down menu.

chromesettings

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and choose Advanced Settings.

chrome-advanced-settings

Scroll down to system and make sure "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" is checked."

chrome-background-apps

Then go to the Chrome Web store and check out the Bing2google extension. To install, just click the Add to Chrome button.

add-to-chrome

Once installed, this free extension will redirect to Google instead of Bing for web searches. If you use Cortana, Chrome also offers a Chrometana exstension.

When you install Chrometana, you'll have the choice between Google, Duck Duck Go and Yahoo as your default search engine. You need to choose Google if you want this to work correctly with Bing2Google.

chrome-tana-google

Adding extensions can mean slower browsing and putting in redirects will slow down the speed of your searches. But since you dislike Bing so much, it might be worth it to you.

Myself, I actually like Bing – though it's not always the best search engine, I think their site makes a great homepage for your browser. I wrote about it last year. Click here if you'd like to check that article out.

Top 3 Premium Tablets

In Part 1 and Part 2 of this article, we counted down some of the best tablets on the market. Now, we're ready to check out the top 3 models out there. While these tablets, aren't cheap, you get a lot of value for the money. And whether you prefer Windows, Android or iOS, we've got a great device for everyone.

3. Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Even though the first generations of the Surface weren't all that great, Microsoft has managed to greatly refine the tablet in its third itineration. The Surface Pro 3 is dedicated to people who need more than a traditional tablet could offer.

surface3andpro

This tablet could easily be a laptop or even a desktop replacement, considering it's equipped with computer hardware instead of mobile chips. You still have the portability of a normal tablet, but you get a full fledged laptop with a proper keyboard when you need it. This could be a good thing for travelers, as the device is considerably easier to carry than a laptop.
The tablet is offered a wide range of configurations. From the base i3 with 4 Gb of RAM to a last gen i7 paired with 8 Gb of RAM. This is a good thing because it lets you choose the right amount of processing power for your needs. The display is 1080p, which might seem a little low for a tablet in this price range, but it has the advantage of using less battery power. This is one of the most expensive tablets out there, starting at $800 for the base model and going up to a whooping $1400 for the maxed out version. It might seem expensive (mainly because it is) but you will get two devices into one. You can turn it anytime from the convenient and easy to carry tablet into a powerful laptop, depending on your needs.

2. Google Nexus 9

The Google Nexus 9 is yet another device from Google's Nexus family of devices. It is the replacement for last year's Nexus 10 and Nexus 7, with it's 8.9 inch display coming in the middle of those two devices. This year's tablet is manufactured by HTC and runs a vanilla, barebones version of Android. This means a blazing fast experience, that isn't bogged down by...

Don't Repost This Facebook Fraud

* This post is originally from January, but it's going around again with a new date. Same rules apply. It's a fake!

I've seen this pop up in my Facebook feed dozens of times over the past few days.

share13

It claims that "Channel 13 News" said that you can change you Facebook privacy policy by posting this notice to your wall and that you must post the notice to the wall to ensure your privacy.

As with all posts that claim you can somehow make some type of legal notification with a Facebook post, it is 100% untrue and a complete waste of your time. TV stations with the channel 13 designation from all over the country are posting denials like these online.

wowkdenial

fb privacy post

You cannot make any changes to your terms of service with Facebook by posting something on you Facebook wall. In fact, you can't modify those terms of service at all, except by choosing not to use the social network.

Microsoft Comes Clean About Windows Privacy

Microsoft has taken a lot of flak about privacy issues in Windows 10. Some of it is unjustified, their privacy policy isn't really any different from any other tech company and it's not any different for Windows 10 than it is for Windows 8 or Windows 7.

windows10announcecrop

But the company decided to clear the air with a long, detailed blog post about their privacy policies for Windows 10. The post was long and detailed, but the company did list two simplified rules that it says governs the way they control privacy.

1. Windows 10 collects information so the product will work better for you.

2. You are in control with the ability to determine what information is collected.

The company says there are three layers of data collected. They are as follows:
