HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA is a project that at first sounded really run. It's the story of an outta the way from B&B run by Dracula who's an over-protective father. Then suddenly this became an Adam Sandler project (he's the voice of Dracula) and my interest dropped quicker than Enron's stock. COuld Sony Pictures have fucked this film up any more? There's a few decent choices, but I think the rest of the world is finally realizing what I've known since 1990 -- Adam Sandler is not funny. At all. The only movie of his that I enjoyed was HAPPY GILMORE. Sandlet has never made me laugh when he was on Saturday Night Live and his stand-up routines certainly never made me laugh. If I had to listen to one more film or song parody where he uses that retarded-baby voice, I'm gonna shoot up some shit!! Oops, sorry; I got a little off track.
Three international one-sheets for HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA have been released and I have them below. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and is written by Dan Hageman, Kevin Hageman, Robert Smigel, and David I. Stern (Smigel was the creator and writer of an absolutely hilarious TV show that aired in the early 2000's titled TV FUNHOUSE). Adam Sandler stars as the voice of Dracula; Selena Gomez as his daughter, Mavis; David Koechner as Quasimodo (although IMDb.com has this role being played by Jon Lovitz); David Spade as Griffin the invisible man; Kevin James as Frank, aka Frankenstein; Fran Drescher as his bride, Eunice; Steve Buscemi and Molly Shannon as married werewolves Wayne and Wanda; Cee Lo Green as Murray the mummy; and Andy Samberg as Jonathan, a regular guy. Check out the plot crunch:
Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula's (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free from meddling from the human world. But here's a little known fact about Dracula: he is not only the Prince of Darkness; he is also a dad. Over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), Dracula fabricates tales of elaborate dangers to dissuade her adventurous spirit. As a haven for Mavis, he opens the Hotel Transylvania, where his daughter and some of the world's most famous monsters - Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more - can kick back in safety and peace. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem - but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Now check out the trailer and the three international one-sheets below:
