MODERN JAZZ SERIES COMES OUT SWINGIN'

 
The Prime Example Jazz Club and WWOZ present "Thursday Night Swingin'," a new, live concert series for modern jazz in New Orleans.
Current OffBeat cover subject Davell Crawford will perform at the first show, February 7. Future talent includes Delfeayo Marsalis (Feb. 14), Shannon Powell (Feb. 21) and Herlin Riley (Feb. 28). WWOZ's Soul Sister is your host for sets starting at 7 and 9 p.m. Cover is $15. 

 

 

BAYOU COUNTRY SUPERFEST ADDITION

 

Aaron Lewis will join the previously announced talent set to play Memorial Day Weekend's 2013 Bayou Country Superfest. Lewis joins Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Rodney Atkins and Frankie Ballard for the fourth annual event, taking place May 25-26 at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. (Love & Theft, previously scheduled to perform, will not appear.)

Single-day tickets (in addition to full weekend and VIP packages) for this year's BUKU Music + Art Project, set for March 8-9, are now available. Click here for a day-by-day rundown of acts.
 

 

Folks at the 15th Annual Voodoo Experience are offering a Valentine's Day deal. Between February 4-14, passes are available at $150 for three-day General Admission and $400 for three-day Loa VIP; prices will increase as the Halloween weekend event (November 1-3) nears. Camping packages are also available, and anyone who purchases tickets during the Voodoo Valentine promotion is eligible to win an upgrade to the Loa Grand campgrounds.
