We recently reported to you that director Tim Burton and Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton, were both in talks to join the sequel, with a script that is being written by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Dark Shadows screenwriter Seth Grahame Smith. Winona Ryder, who played the awkward, goth teenage daughter Lydia in the original Beetlejuice back in 1988, confirmed to The Daily Beast that she had been in talks about returning to reprise her role.
