The 2014 competition is heating up and you can follow it all this week on Radio 3. Every weeknight at 7:30pm, listen to the performances and results from the five category finals (Strings, Keyboard, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion). On Sunday join Jamie MacDougall for coverage of the final from the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. Saturday | 4:00pm   Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert A concert of early music fused with traditional folk and jazz-style improvisation from Christina Pluhar and her ensemble L'Arpeggiata. Saturday | 1:00pm         This Week's Guests       Essential Classics: Stewart Copeland Rob's guest this week is the drummer and composer, Stewart Copeland, who played with The Police, produced numerous film scores and written for ballet, opera and orchestras. Weekdays | 9:00am   In Tune: Antonio Pappano Sean Rafferty's guests include conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, as he brings his Santa Cecilia orchestra from Italy to the UK for performances of Verdi's dramatic Requiem. Thursday | 4:30pm   Private Passions: Emma Bridgewater Pottery designer Emma Bridgewater talks to Michael Berkeley about the personal tragedy that changed her life and selects some of the music that consoled her. Sunday | 12:00pm           Featured Live Concert: Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music Polish ensemble Arte dei Suonatori and violinist Rachel Podger perform a specially devised programme of orchestral and instrumental works by five leading European composers, including concertos by Vivaldi and Corelli. Saturday | 7:30pm             Featured Podcast: Commonwealth Connections In the build up to the Glasgow games this summer, World on 3 meets musicians, sportspeople and cultural figures who introduce the music from their countries, recorded on location.
