Limit Distractions

While working today, you might consider making your work space free of distractions. Try closing your office door or not taking calls, letting the answer machine pick up instead. You can let others know that you will answer their concerns in good time, after you have finished what you need to do. Allow yourself to work with minimal interruptions during the day, and you could find that you are more focused and efficient.
Focusing on our tasks by minimizing distractions helps us accomplish more. Although it is important to be open to others, our interactions can sometimes become diversions that affect our ability to finish our tasks. We can sometimes replay events in our minds of things that have happened in the past and become frustrated with the feelings our thoughts bring about. But, if we work hard to free ourselves from unnecessary interruptions, we are able to get more done. As a result of finishing our tasks in a more efficient manner, our competence and confidence in our work increases as does our patience with ourselves and others. By making the effort to eliminate distractions today, you will improve your ability to focus and gain greater serenity in the process.
