As I'm sure you've heard by now, Channing Tatum is close to finalizing his deal to take on the role of fan favorite mutant "Gambit" in an upcoming X-Men movie. Many people assumed that would involve him being introduced in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, but it sounds like Channing has some very different ideas for the character. In an interview with MTV, Channing explained that current talks are for him to do a standalone Gambit movie first before joining the ranks of the X-Men saying quote, "We've talked about it being a standalone, first, and actually trying to change the 'hero, superhero movie.'
