What-abyte? You've heard of Kilobyte, Megabyte, and Gigabyte. You've likely heard of Terabyte. But do you know the future sizes of file storage? A byte is a single unit of measure in computing, capable of storing one character. A kilobyte (KB) is comprised of 1,024 bytes. (Bytes are measured by a binary system, not a decimal system, so the numbers are not "even".) Then, similar to the metric system, you go up in measure: 1 megabyte (MB) = 1,024 KB 1 gigabyte (GB) = 1,024 MB 1 terabyte (TB) = 1,024 GB Currently, terabyte drives are as large as they get. In fact, just this year, they have released a 6 TB hard drive, so that's pretty large. That's 6,144 GB of storage!
But they do have the names of the future storage amounts that may be available in the future. 1 petabyte (PB) = 1,024 TB 1 exabyte (EB) = 1,024 PB 1 zettabyte (ZB) = 1,024 EB 1 yottabyte (YB) = 1,024 ZB To put that into perspective A yottabyte is 1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 bytes. That's 1 septillion, if you were wondering (had to look that one up, too)! Will we see yottabyte storage in the future? Probably not likely in any near future, but then again, not all that long ago, tech people were saying a few hundred megabytes of storage was all we'd need! -Audra Click here to rate this tip | Printer friendly version
They. Are. EVERYWHERE! Ever tried to enjoy a nice night outside? After all, the weather is finally warm enough! But there's one big problem... those mosquitoes. They're around every corner! You step outside, and before you can even close the door behind you... CHOMP! There's one. Then two. Then a dozen of them! So how do you deal with them? Hopefully not sprays and chemicals! In fact, I have to say, bug spray is one of the WORST solutions! In addition to all the obvious things that we all hate about it, it's potentially dangerous! Prolonged use can even lead to severe skin conditions, rashes, or burns! The National Institute of Health has an ENTIRE article dedicated to the potential hazards of bug spray! "Persons who use very high concentrations of DEET [the chemical used in most bug spray] on their skin over a long period of time may have more severe skin reactions that include blistering, burning, and permanent scars of the skin." What are you other options?! Bug zappers? The mosquitoes are all over you, they don't care about some silly light! And mosquito nets are terrible - you went outside to enjoy some SPACE, not to be confined in a net! Look, you can enjoy your outside WITHOUT mosquitoes, nasty chemicals, or useless zappers!
It's not even 5" tall and keeps your area completely bug free!
It has 3 frequencies that it emits that keep mosquitoes from coming anywhere NEAR you! Two of the frequencies keep female mosquitoes away by mimicing the sound of males. (If you didn't know, only female mosquitoes are after your blood... meaning no more bites!) But if that wasn't enough, it ALSO emits a sound that mimics the dragonfly: the mosquito's natural predator! So any of the little blood-suckers that weren't scared before? Oh yeah, they're hightailing it out of there now!
See, these freqencies are loud and clear to mosquitoes... but to you? Practically nothing! Chances are you won't hear a thing! So you can avoid the sticky bug spray WITHOUT making any tradeoffs! In fact, it's completely safe for people, kids, even pets! Only mosquitoes are gonna be annoyed by this! That's a win-win if you ask me! Speaking of a win, check THIS out!
THAT'S A GIGANTIC AREA OF COVERAGE! This is perfect for decks, patios, backyards, camping, even social events! Cover a HUGE area!
So if you're on the go, pop some batteries in this bad boy and you can put it anywhere! At less than 5 inches tall, there's no place this won't fit! But if you're at home, feel free to plug this into any outlet and BAM! No batteries, no mosquitoes! YEAH BABY! Keep The Bugs At Bay For CHEAP! Only $14.97 and you don't have to worry about those nasty, itchy bites all over your limbs! That's a great deal to finally take back your yard and LITERALLY save your skin! Grab 'em below, but be quick! Last time we ran these, they COMPLETELY sold out! http://store.worldstart.com/product/9626 Warning: I wasn't kidding - these ALWAYS sell out! And if you wait until Tuesday the last few will cost $21.97 anyway!
Connie from Youngstown writes: As my secondary email I had a g-mail addres, I also had an icon on my desktop, now it is not there and I can't get it back, even tho' I have Google chrome on my desktop. If it's a secondary e-mail address and doesn't get much use, it's possible it could have been removed as part of a computer clean up to remove unused icons from the desktop. We just need to get the shortcut for your Gmail back on your desk top. Fortunately, it's not that hard. Since you say you have Chrome, there's a super-way to do it. Open up your Gmail in Google Chrome and select tools from the menu followed by Application shortcuts.
You can create a shortcut for your desktop, start menu or pin it to the task bar. I like pinning mail to the taskbar.
If you don't have Chrome, open your Gmail in your browser and copy the address at the top of your browser by highlighting it and pressing either Ctrl + C or right-clicking and selecting Copy.
Now go to your desktop and right-click in a blank spot and choose New followed by Shortcut.
Paste your link in the box to create a shortcut by pressing Ctrl + V or right-clicking and selecting Paste.
Select Desktop as the target of your shortcut. Then select next.
Name your shortcut and select finish.

George in Virginia writes: I have XM radio in my Cadillac XLT and the Pandora app. How do I actually establish a connection to Pandora so I can receive the music? You can listen to Pandora in your Cadillac using the Cadillac User Experience. To listen to Pandora you must first access the Internet. In this case, you'll have to pair your vehicle via Bluetooth with a device that has the Pandora App installed. You'll need a smart device with Bluetooth capability. This could be an Android smartphone or tablet or iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
You can pair up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled devices with your vehicle. But only one device can be active at a time.
You will need to have the Pandora App installed on your phone or tablet to use with CUE. It will use your phone's Internet connection to play back the music. If you don't already have a Pandora account, you'll need to create one and make sure the Pandora app is installed on any device you wish to use for playback. Pair the device with your vehicle and then tap the Pandora app to open on your phone or tablet. Want more? Head on over to WorldStart!
MSN Won't Remember My Password Bob from St. Paul, MN writes: MSN has changed will not allow your computer to remember your password making it necessary to put it in each time you go on the net. It goes to a page with three icons. They asked if I like the new look. I said NO as plain as I could. I did not change anything on my computer when this requirement occurred. MSN told me that I could no longer store my password. Is it possible to design a flash drive program that would start your computer? It would be such that you would plug in the drive to a UBS port and it would do all the steps required to get you on line. Such a program would be worth $5 or $10 plus the flash drive. To make it personal it would have to follow your start up routine once including your password and then be able to repeat it each time it was plugged in. Fortunately, Bob I have much simpler solution to your issue with MSN.com. All Microsoft e-mail accounts, MSN, Hotmail, Live Mail have all been combined into Outlook.com and the solution to your problem lies there. I want you to go to www.outlook.com. Sign in with your MSN username and password. Make sure you check the Keep me signed in box. Then click Sign in.
You should be taken to your Outlook.com Inbox.
Now I want you to go to MSN.com. Up in the left corner, just above the MSN logo, you'll see... Want more? Just click WorldStart!

The Book Seer Have you just finished an awesome book? Wondering what you should read next? Why not ask the Book Seer? When you arrive at the site, you're ready to begin. All you need is a title of book (you can recently have read it or not) and the name of the books author. Enter the title into the first field and the author's name into the second field then click the arrow button to generate recommendations. The site polls Amazon.com to generate recommendations of what you should read next complete with links to the titles. It looks like also polls LibraryThing, but that functionality wasn't working when I visited. Don't like the recommendations? Well, you can conveniently try a different title right from the page your results came up on which is pretty cool. And the price? How about just $4.97 ! One of our suppliers gave us an absolutely mind-blowing deal on this 4GB TwistTurn Lexar Flash Drive! But there's a catch - Think about this - this drive can hold the same amount of data as not 1, not 3, but 6 - count 'em 6 - CD-ROMS! It still amazes me you can get this much storage on something so small. I remember when 4 GB was considered to be a HUGE hard drive. Now it fits right in your pocket! Heck, we're talking enough storage for thousands of images from your digital camera, 1000 MP3s, or 80,000 typical office documents! That's a lot of data!! What can you do with a flash drive? What can't you do with a flash drive? Back up your important documents, photos and videos. Take your music library with you wherever you go. Up to 1,000 songs! One of my favorite things to do is load up a drive with years of photos of videos and share them with family and friends. At this price, you can afford to make sure everyone has a copy of special events. Another great trick is download a free office suite like LibreOffice or Open Office onto a flash drive. That's right, you can carry an entire office suite and thousands of documents with you wherever you go to use on any computer! I don't know about you, but I can't live without my flash drives! But you probably already know how useful they can be. What you need to concentrate on is the price: Only $4.97! For that kind of money, you better grab a couple or a dozen! Click the store link below right now to add a few to your cart! http://store.worldstart.com/product/9569 Please note - this was a special promotion from one of our suppliers and the price on these will increase on Tuesday !Grab yours ASAP - before the price goes back up to $9.97 !
