BUFFA'S BAR AND RESTAURANT ROBBED

There were some scary moments when two gunmen robbed Buffa's this week. No one was hurt, and the music in the backroom didn't miss a beat.

MORE NEWS:

Take a look back at our New Year's Eve show at the Joy.

The legendary Diana Ross will return to New Orleans on February 28.

The Breton Sound will play Weezer's "Blue Album" live to kick off their "Desert Island Discs" series on January 15.

A CENTURY OF NOTATED JAZZ

Frenchmen Street resident Jelly Roll Morton's "Original Jelly Roll Blues" was published a century ago, making it the earliest jazz composition.

THE MUSIC BUSINESS
IS ALIVE AND HELPING
LOCAL MUSIC!

It's not enough to be a musician and make music, unless you're lucky enough to be someone like Bobby McFerrin, who can depend on his voice alone to create an orchetra of sounds. Musicians need instruments, they need mics, they need sound systems, they need clkubs and festivals to showcase their talents; the need attorneys an managers and a lot more.

This is the time of year when we honor local music business professionals at the Best of The Beat Business Awards.
