Wilmer Wilson IV is recognized internationally for his investigations of race. His process of slowly and meticulously using everyday objects to cover his skin is meant to address the long history of racism in the United States.
IDENTIFY is the National Portrait Gallery's first-ever performance art series, which focuses attention on activism, visibility and experimentation through portrayal. This series pushes the boundaries of portraiture through performance art. |
