It's a brand-new year in New Orleans, but we're still fighting to keep live music alive here in our fair city. It galls me how a few residents can have such sway over the politics of an entire city, especially as it relates to live music. |
RIP CLARK VREELAND  | Famed New Orleans guitarist dies at 62. | Clark Vreeland was one-of-a-kind. Were you one of the lucky ones who got to see him perform with the Rhapsodizers at Luigi's near UNO before the band transmogrified into the Radiators? Vreeland passed away from cancer on December 26 at a hospice center near Atlanta, GA. He was an instrumental musician, songwriter and bandleader key to New Orleans' rock heritage. Read more...
