Music City Gears Up For Another New Year’s Eve Bash On Broadway Posted: 29 Dec 2014 03:19 PM PST If you do not have your New Year's Eve plans by now you may end up watching Ryan Seacrest on the television and sipping grocery store wine while your pizza rolls or vienna sausages heat up. "But what option do I have at this point", you may ask? Well, my procrastinating party patrons, if you live in or around Nashville we have you covered. Since it's inception way back in 2009 the Music City New Year's Eve Bash On Broadway has provided one of the best, and fastest growing, NYE parties in the country. Lady Antebellum claims the headlining spot this year succeeding such past acts as Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar, Jeffrey Steele, Love & Theft, Brett Eldredge and Hank Williams Jr., to name a few. Probably the most notorious aspect of the Nashville bash is the 15 foot tall music note adorned in over 150 feet of LED lights. The spectacle drops from 125 feet above 1st avenue in downtown Nashville. The note made it's first appearance in 2011. Prior to that a smaller lit guitar slowly fell a mere 80 feet. In 2013 85,000 party goers flocked in droves to lower Broadway on NYE. Quite a dichotomy from 15,000 the inaugural year. This year boasts an additional venture into the big leagues as the Jack Daniel's sponsored Bash On Broadway will be featured on ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Nashville is definitely not the only city playing host to some fabulous music on NYE. You can check out Skrillex in New York for $160. Britney Spears in Vegas for $200. Take a trip to beautiful Orlando to see Billy Joel for $290. Or how about Maroon 5 in Las Vegas for the family friendly price of $360. If you happen to have an extra $650 laying around after the holidays you can see Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. Oh, did I happen to mention that the Music City New Year's Eve Bash On Broadway was free? That is not a typo readers. F to the R to the double E, free. Live music, note drop, fireworks, confetti, vendors, and not to mention all of the everyday talent and attractions that draw millions of fans to Nashville each year. Nothing pacifies that inner baby New Year like imbibing in some Jack Daniel's at a honky-tonk. So if you can not make it out this year, or have not made plans yet, I urge you to consider Nashville. Unless of course you are going to New York City to see Taylor Swift for $350.
