Tom from Toronto asks, Lately, every time that I close Internet Explorer (11), I get a pop-up box on my screen, twice, saying that Internet Explorer is not working. I know it's not working because I just shit it down. How can I get rid of these 2 pop-ups. Hello Tom, If this is happening often, and gives you no indication of the problem, my suggestion is to reset Internet Explorer back to its original state. This will reset and disable tool bars, add-ons, and many other changed settings, but one of these may be the culprit. I'd agree to backup your favorites, just in case, as these could be erased in the reset.

The worst part of your tablet or phone has just been made EASY! FINALLY! Think about it: moving files on your computer is SO easy. You open the folder, drag and drop, and boom! They're right where you want. It's even easier when you have a flash drive... you can move files to ANY other computer on the planet, all you have to do is plug it in! WHY CAN'T YOUR PHONE OR TABLET BE THAT SIMPLE?!
Not only is it a pain to have to connect your phone to your PC just to transfer, finding the files is just as bad! (And let's not get into hoping your computer recognizes what you're trying to DO with your phone, instead of just trying to update or charge it) You can't even transfer over WiFi without paying for an app! THAT'S RIDICULOUS! I have good news, though: I just found the GREATEST device ever made for computers, smartphones, and tablets: The Super Talent Android USB Flash Drive! It works on computers. It works on Android phones. It even works on Android TABLETS! Plug it in. Save your data. Transfer it ANYWHERE!

(Everyone in the world just went "Oh man, I should've thought of that!") If you've ever used a card reader for your memory cards because you were tired of hooking your camera up to your computer... this is kinda like that, except even BETTER! It's just like a flash drive. That means it's simple, fast, and AWESOME! All you have to do is plug it in to the device you're using and move the files onto it! Drag & drop - it doesn't get easier than that! Now you can finally get all your photos and videos off your phone to share them on your computer! But this isn't a one-way street!
Check out all the ways you could potentially use this thing to transfer files!
BAM! INSTANT ACCESS TO THE FILES YOU WANTED! I can't tell you how excited I am about this! I absolutely HATED data transfers between my mobile devices and my computer. It was ALWAYS a pain... not anymore! But that's only HALF of why you'll want this awesome thing.
If you don't need to transfer some data right now, you can use it as extra storage! You've NEVER been able to use a flash drive for extra storage on an Android device... until now! YES!
Squeeze some extra music on your phone even though the internal storage is full! Keep a backup of your PC's most important documents and photos! It's all up to you! This device does EVERYTHING and it makes it look so easy! Hold Onto Your Jaw... ...because it's about to hit the floor! This incredible one-of-a-kind flash drive is ONLY $14.97! Terry from Folsom, LA writes: I read your tip giving the steps to be able to view Win. 7 format with toolbar while browsing from the desktop in Win. 8. If I don't like it can I reverse the process and get back to Win. 8 format? Thank you. Terry, I'm not sure if you're talking about viewing Windows 8 in traditional desktop mode or about viewing Internet Explorer in the desktop mode as opposed to using the touch-friendly app version. But in both cases, your choice is not permanent. You can use the desktop mode with the traditional taskbar by tapping the Desktop tile.
You'll then have a more traditional desktop interface.
If you wish to return to Modern/Metro mode, just press the Windows key + D. If you upgrade to 8.1, you can have to computer boot to the desktop with a few changes. If you add the 8.1.1 update, it should detect whether you are using a keyboard and mouse setup or a tablet and go to the interface that works best for that automatically. In all of these cases, you can customize to book to the interface you prefer. And it's simple to switch back and forth between desktop and Metro/Modern mode. If you are talking about the two versions of Internet Explorer , you also have choices. If you access Internet Explorer from the desktop, you'll open the desktop version with the address bar at the top.
If you open IE from the Metro/Modern screen, you'll see the app version. The address bar is hidden, unless out tap it and the controls are optimized for touch.
The other possibility is that you are referring to downloading the Classic Shell app and changing the appearance of 8 to be more similar to 7. This, too is reversible by uninstalling Classic Shell.
You will need to uninstall Classic Shell before upgrading to Windows 8.1. Hope this helps. If you have more questions about 8.1 check out WorldStart's Guide to Windows 8.1. This great guide is packed with tips and tricks at an unbeatable price. ~ Cynthia Click here to rate this tip | Printer friendly version Do you have a question for us? Ask it here!
Sam asks: What's the difference between a Kindle and an Android Tablet? It depends on which model of Kindle you're talking about. If you mean a Kindle eReader and an Android tablet, there's a huge difference. The eReader is designed for reading and not much else. If you mean a Kindle Fire tablet, the two are very similar. In fact, a Kindle Fire tablet is an Android tablet. But it's a special customized version of Android designed to work with that tablet and with Amazon apps. Let's look at the differences: The thing you'll notice first is the interface. A typical Android home screen looks like the image below and may remind you of a PC desktop . Your apps are arranged however you placed them and stay static until they are moved.
The Kindle home screen is called a carousel and will focus on your recently read Amazon eBooks, recently played Amazon music, recently viewed videos and recently used apps.
For the vast majority of Android tablets, you download apps from the Google Play Store.
On a Kindle you use the Amazon App store. You'll find many of the same apps, but not all of them. Sometimes, you'll have to wait a bit for a Kindle optimized version of an app to become available. This means fewer apps and sometimes a longer wait for new, popular apps. On the upside, it also allows... Just click WorldStart to learn more!

Danny, you have several options for enjoying audio books on your Android tablet. If you're interest in free audio books, you might want to check out LibriVox in the Google Play Store. The #1 Way To Make Your Profile Pictures Super Cool It doesn't matter anymore if you use an expensive high end professional DSLR to take a profile picture for Facebook. If it does not have one of those Instagram style vintage filters layered all over it, it won't get much attention on the social networks. Gone are the days when a good picture was judged based on clarity and resolution. Look around on the social networks today and the only thing that will catch your attention, apart from loads of hashtags, are the 'artistic' pictures everyone seems to create and upload using smartphone Instagram apps. Does it mean that those without an Instagram account or an expensive smartphone are left behind then? Not necessarily. Today I'll share a quick tip with you. One that will allow you to get something much better than those Instagram effects and in a much more efficient manner. Getting started For our little project here, we need access to the Internet and the images you want to 'artistify'. While Photoshop is the first app that comes to mind when such a task is to be accomplished, today we will rely on the free online app Pixlr-o-Matic. Simply coz, it has a few advantages over Photoshop.
To get started, click here to load up the app in your browser of choice. Let's get artistic The splash screen of Pixlr-o-Matic is rather self-explanatory. You can load pictures from your computer or use your webcam to take a picture right there and then. If you want to just preview the effects, then you can load up one of the stock pictures that come along with the app.
Once the picture is loaded, you are provided with a bunch of options at the bottom. For instance, you will see a whole bunch of filter styles that you can apply to the picture you loaded. Clicking on each will instantly let you preview the effect in a non-destructive manner... Want more? Go To WorldStart!
