Quick Tip

Mark from Hurricane, WV writes:

The icons on my Smartphone keep switching places. How can I keep them from switching places? I'm using Obit Advance Mobil Care for my antivirus program.

Mark, the most likely reason that your icons keep switching places is that you are pressing down too long on them and accidentally dragging them. If you press down and hold an icon, you can accidentally drag it into a new position on a tablet or smartphone. I do this all the time.

Make sure that you when you want to open a program that you tap it quickly to open and don't accidentally press down. The other possibility is that when you add new apps to your home screen that you are dropping them down between existing apps and rearranging the order of things.

The worst part of your tablet or phone has just been made EASY!

FINALLY!

Think about it: moving files on your computer is SO easy. You open the folder, drag and drop, and boom! They're right where you want. It's even easier when you have a flash drive... you can move files to ANY other computer on the planet, all you have to do is plug it in!

WHY CAN'T YOUR PHONE OR TABLET BE THAT SIMPLE?!

Not only is it a pain to have to connect your phone to your PC just to transfer, finding the files is just as bad!

(And let's not get into hoping your computer recognizes what you're trying to DO with your phone, instead of just trying to update or charge it)

You can't even transfer over WiFi without paying for an app!

THAT'S RIDICULOUS!

I have good news, though: I just found the GREATEST device ever made for computers, smartphones, and tablets:

The Super Talent Android USB Flash Drive!

It works on computers.

It works on Android phones.

It even works on Android TABLETS!

Plug it in. Save your data. Transfer it ANYWHERE!

If you have photos/videos on your phone, this baby will let you get them on your PC in no time!

No cords, no weird software, no hunting for files... just save your pictures to the flash drive & plug it into your PC!

THAT'S IT!

(Everyone in the world just went "Oh man, I should've thought of that!")

If you've ever used a card reader for your memory cards because you were tired of hooking your camera up to your computer... this is kinda like that, except even BETTER!

It's just like a flash drive. That means it's simple, fast, and AWESOME! All you have to do is plug it in to the device you're using and move the files onto it!

Drag & drop - it doesn't get easier than that!

Now you can finally get all your photos and videos off your phone to share them on your computer!

But this isn't a one-way street!

Check out all the ways you could potentially use this thing to transfer files!

Phone to PC!
Phone to Phone!
Tablet to Phone!
Tablet to PC!
Tablet to Tablet!
Sharing Files Just Got EASY!

BAM! INSTANT ACCESS TO THE FILES YOU WANTED!

I can't tell you how excited I am about this! I absolutely HATED data transfers between my mobile devices and my computer.

It was ALWAYS a pain... not anymore!

But that's only HALF of why you'll want this awesome thing.

If you don't need to transfer some data right now, you can use it as extra storage!

You've NEVER been able to use a flash drive for extra storage on an Android device... until now!

YES!

Squeeze some extra music on your phone even though the internal storage is full! Keep a backup of your PC's most important documents and photos!

It's all up to you! This device does EVERYTHING and it makes it look so easy!

Hold Onto Your Jaw...

...because it's about to hit the floor!

This incredible one-of-a-kind flash drive is ONLY $14.97!

Easy, fast, amazing, and CHEAP? Quick, get one (or two!) at the link below, before they're all gone!

Computers 101

Norma from Lena, IL writes:

I need to change my browser from IE to Firefox. Do you have instructions on how i should do that? My bank upgraded and went to a higher version of IE and my computer will not go any higher than 8. I need to change so I can go to my bank account. I am 81 years old and need help.

Norma, if you have a Windows XP computer, you should not be doing your banking online. It is not secure. You shouldn't be going online at all, especially using Internet Explorer 8 and you certainly should not be banking with that browser. Microsoft ended security support for Windows XP back in April and it's just not possible to keep that system truly secure online. There are things you can do to make it a little safer, but ultimately, it's not safe for banking.

It's pretty easy to get Firefox. Just click this link to go to Mozilla and download it for free.

Click the green download link.

downloadff

When the window below opens, click Run.

run

Then follow the steps to install.

nextfirefox

Then just click on the Firefox icon when you want to use the Internet.

firefoxicon

However, even with the latest version of Firefox, your XP computer is not safe for banking. You would be better off banking either over the phone, by mail or in person.

You might look into a refurbished Windows 7 desktop, which Staples online and other retailers have for just over $100 or check out some of the new, inexpensive Windows laptops like the HP Streambook which sells for just $200.

refurbedwin7

Expensive, yes. But far less expensive than having your account compromised.

Smart Weapons & Accessories

Today's firearms are becoming so sleek and fun to use. At the very least, they're making people comfortable hunters. Take Cabela's Nikon Monarch 3 Riflescope, for example. The riflescope provides generous eye relief and is equipped with an Ultra Clearcoat Optical system for the best light transmission possible, providing hunters with a patented BDC reticle to hold a target at incredible distances and still provide a clear, non-straining visual for targets much closer, thanks to the BDC's see-through ballistic circles, giving hunters a unique advantage for long-range shooting.

Hunting tech has also gone "smart." High-tech weapons like the 750 Series Smart Rifles, for example, look as though they come right from the set of the black ops thriller movie "The Bourne Legacy." Though this weapon is being used generally for military use, it's an introduction to what to expect from all firearms soon—smart technology.

These precision-guided firearms, made by TrackingPoint Inc., cost a whopping $27,000 a piece. The target-locking technology is borrowed from similar technology used in military jets, allowing a rifleman to consistently hit a target that is more than 1.75 miles away. With a 70 percent first-shot success probability at 1,000—with inexperienced shooters, mind you—you can understand why it has a hefty price tag, as it makes the average shooter a better than average shooter.

Equipped with a Linux-powered computer in the scope with sensors, the smart firearm can collect...

Nance from Davenport, WA writes:

I am retiring the computer with XP this week and am wondering how to set up the printer and monitor to still use with this old computer as a word processor off line only and then also use the same printer and monitor on the new Win 7 computer. You're dealing with an almost 80 year old here so hopefully this isn't too difficult or impossible to do? Thank you!

Hello Nance,

In this situation, the printer issue is fairly easy to solve, using print sharing. You can set up the printer to easily work with both computers that way. However, the monitor is a slightly different story. You could choose to simply switch your cables back and forth, and same with the printer, actually, but that would likely get very frustrating.

However, you could set up a KVM switch. This allows you to hook up two computers, but only need one monitor, mouse, and keyboard. You could also use your printer on this switch. Here is an example of what a KVM switch setup looks like...

Today's Feature

Keith from Australia writes:

I have perused your video on "List A Folder's Contents For Easy Organization" however this has not worked for my external hard drive (where my movies/music now live) How can I create a text file on the contents of the external drive (E:)?

Keith, there's a simple solution to the issue you're having here which requires skipping some of the steps outlined in the video. As you cannot use the CD command to navigate to your external drive, you can instead create a batch file on the external drive to serve the same purpose.

To do this, you can follow these easy steps:

1. Navigate to the folder you want to list, for example E:\Music.

2. Next create a new text file within the folder. This can be done by right-clicking within the folder, then navigating to 'New->Text Document' within the menu.

3. Once you've created it, you don't need to worry about naming it. Just right-click and click Edit.

4. Now you're faced with your standard text document editor. Enter in the following...

Green Car Reports

Welcome to Green Car Reports! This stir brings you reviews, ratings, spec, and even pictures of hybrids and electric cars. Our lease is up in March on our car, so my roommate and I have been doing loads of research on what our options are for our next lease.

In my research, I ran across this site, and I thought it was worth sharing. I love the Green Car Info Center that you can find right in the middle of the main page.

The main page also features the most recent articles, news, and a topic menu that you can use to browse gas mileage, hybrids, electric cars, diesel, alt fuels, and auto shows.

Looking for information on a particular make and model? You can use the handy Find Green Cars search. Just selec the make and model of the car from the drop down menus and then click the green Go button!

This is an awesome site to learn more about fuel efficient cars, so go check it out today !

One More Big Deal

What is it about computers that makes them SO annoying to use for simple tasks?

You have data on this computer. But you want it on that computer. Or maybe you want to move your PC's data to your laptop.

Either way, it's YOUR data... why is it such a PAIN to move?!

Well, it's because you don't have THIS SMARTLINK DATA TRANSFER CABLE!

Think about it! Whether you're trying to move data between your own PCs, share some data with a friend, or trying to copy data to all your computers... you're not sure where to begin!

Sure there's lots of ways to do it - and they all fall under "hard and miserable"!

You could spend your afternoon burning CDs, emailing the files to yourself (please tell me you don't do that), or grabbing an Ethernet cable and try to network the computers together.

Yeah, that didn't sound very good to me either.

You need a smarter way to do it!

It effortlessly networks your two computers together with just a cable - all automatic! In fact, I looked up the word "easy" in the dictionary and I think I saw a picture of the Smart PC-Link Data Transfer Cable!

I can explain the whole process in 10 seconds!

Just plug the unit into the computer that has the files you want, then plug the included cable into the computer you want to transfer those file to - you're over half way done!

Oh, and you'll absolutely love this - once you plug in, a friendly "Windows Explorer" style window automatically pops open so you can quickly drag and drop your files from one computer to another!

That's really it!

So easy it ought to be illegal!

In fact, all you need to know is WHAT a USB port is so you know where to plug it in!

Without a DOUBT - this is the one accessory NO computer user should be without!

Just imagine - next time you need to transfer documents, loads of photos, tons of music - it can all be done with this little cable!

Oh, and you are in for a real TREAT when you upgrade to your next computer! You know ALL those files you need to get from one machine to another? Yup, use this cable, sit back, and relax! It's done baby!!

You and I BOTH know you've gotta be crazier than an outhouse rat to sit there trying to copy all your data to CDs or flash drives - or worse - trying to network two computers together just to get your data moved!

If you're ever, in your life, going to buy another computer YOU need this!! Heck, if you're ever going to transfer a batch of files from one computer to another you need this!

You'll wonder how you lived without it!

Oh, and the deal we got can only be described as totally, absolutely 100% pure SWWWEEEETTTNNNEEEESSS!!!

YOU get a deal so smokin' hot you should need a permit from the fire dept.!

Today only, you can get this for just $14.97!

Oh, and take it from me - once you get your hands on this bad boy you'll be patting yourself on the back for grabbin' it!! It's THAT good!

http://store.worldstart.com/product/5139

PS - This special price is ONLY available for a short time, so make sure you sprint on over to the site and get yourself setup with one of these! Next time you need to move files, you'll agree that this is the best cable you've ever owned! The price is headed up soon - don't miss out!
